It may help that GLDS has been providing software solutions to the cable industry since 1980. "Our WinCable architecture allows multiple digital addresses or serial numbers per device, as well as the pairing ID's required to support separable security," explained GLDS EVP Laura Rosado. "We anticipated many of these requirements when we successfully deployed CableCARDs in 2004," she added. Traditionally an early adopter of new technology, GLDS was the first billing system vendor to launch certified interfaces for HITS Q.T. Plus, NAS-RAC, VoIP provisioning, and multiple real-time VOD interfaces.

Integrations with Internet OSS innovator Parasun, and more than a dozen IP Phone vendors have resolved several other headaches for GLDS cable operators, who range from 2,500 to over 200,000 subscribers each. More than 40 cable operators already use WinCable to access and manage call detail records for VoIP, one requirement of CALEA. Data stream access for CALEA is handled through real-time interface partner Parasun, a leader in outsourced internet services.

GLDS reports that it will do final separable security testing with vendors as soon as set-top box equipment is available in April of 2007. "Based on the specifications provided to date, we're ready for the future ... and so are our customers," Rosado concluded.
